Graciela Taquini:

As an Argentinian curator, I have been working for a long time in many various ways to distribute and promote video art, as I consider this particular artform a very flexible platform, with great accessibility. I'm interested in collaborating with institutions to create mechanisms for production and distributiion, but with an independent basis.

This initial launch of the project has been made possible through connecting with the Nordic artists Kalle Brolin and Anna Martine Nilsen, who both have a profound emotional bond with Argentina. Instead of separating the videos into compartments, we decided to realize this event together, attempting to connect styles and tendencies, within the given limits of time and organization, relying on the generous space granted by Centro Cultural Recoleta and Cedip.

This is about thematic parallells, not geographical ones. In this case the geometrical laws are broken, as two geographically separated territories find connection points and ways of producing relational esthetics.

This event is realized with the support of the Norwegian Embassy, as well as the Swedish Embassy and the Club Europeo. The Institute of Multimedia design at the University of Maimonides has generously contributed with design and technology.
